Amazing $30 Cartography Humble Bundle Represents a Virtual Tabletop Game Master's Fantasy

Following a brief run earlier this year, the Map Making Mega Bundle is back with an encore that lasts until Dec. 2. Hailed as an extensive collection of mapping tools created by a specialized software company throughout their history, the entire collection carries a value of over $1,300. And there are three different bundles available here.

The Main Attraction

The big draw is definitely permanent access to the CC3+ software, a professional-grade cartography program which enables users to create everything from epic fantasy landscapes, detailed regional charts, city maps, and, perhaps most importantly, tactical combat environments.

An imaginative landscape chart created using Campaign Cartographer 3+.

Package Levels

Basic Package

The most affordable option, starting at just one dollar, features merely four of the 39 total items: Symbol Set 1: Fantasy Overland, Monster Token Pack 1, Castle Source Maps, and Source Maps: Cities!. This one's only for cartographers who already have CC3+, but it does offer fresh fantasy design elements for landscape mapping, more than 750 monster tokens for use in virtual tabletops, more than two dozen aerial castle designs with 470 associated map tokens, eight fully mapped cities, plus seventy-plus building interiors.

Mid-Range Option

The eight-product collection for at least $15 offers enhanced value through inclusion of a lifetime CC3+ license, Cartographer's Annual Vol 1, Tome of Ultimate Mapping, Isometric Cities Symbol Pack. The Annual represents the annual collection from the company's ongoing subscription program featuring multiple CC3+ enhancements like map collections and various other tools. Isometric Cities lets you display cities with an extra dimension using angled views from all sides. And the Tome of Ultimate Mapping comprises 760 pages for beginners and "power users" alike, packed with guidance and instructions for the map-making process.

Starting at thirty dollars, the 39-item bundle contains these components:

Every volume from the Annual series come with this bundle, alongside a slew of additional tools and content that can help users design entire planets or galaxies, or just go all-in on traditional fantasy world-building: combat arenas, underground complexes, cities, and continents in multiple viewpoints. Users can also create character illustrations. For $30 as opposed to $15, the full bundle is so worth it, especially for cartographers who have only the annual CC3+ license seeking permanent licensing. However, it's clearly an even better deal for cartography beginners since it includes the beginners' tutorials to facilitate learning. The sole limitation though you can redeem the deal across platforms, the applications only function on Windows.

Philanthropic Aspect

As with other Humble Bundles, part of every purchase supports charitable organizations. In this instance, the beneficiary is Save the Children, established in 1919 by Eglantyne Jebb focused on improving the lives of children worldwide via educational programs, medical services, and crisis response. Package customization options is toward the top of the page, though users may also choose any amount for a donation in the right-hand section. Additionally available is an "Adjust Donation" drop-down immediately below, allowing you to adjust how much of your donation allocated between the platform, developer, and charity.
